The building has a storied history. Built in 1891, it originally served as a bank and was one of the first commercial structures in the city to have electric lighting. In 2017, the building was renovated, and the Pigeon Cafe & Bar was born. Since then, this local favorite has been serving great food and good times to guests from all walks of life.
Design
Between the birds and the trees, one would think it was a jungle. A Caribbean wave of color washes over each patron as they enter this piece of paradise. A mural of a parrot covers the wall near the door, and cane chairs line against marble colored tables, drawing a path along the polished stone floor.
The inside is dotted with trees, both in pots and somehow coming out of the ground. The stone walls reflect the light coming in from the many windows, and hanging lamps make the tables shine in their glow. A sensory overload of contemporary and island design themes provides a truly unique environment for all, forever marking this hotspot in the minds of each visitor.
